The measurement system consists of several monitoring devices.
The IAQ monitor (Model 5100B) is a full featured device that measures particles, chemical pollutants, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, temperature and relative humidity. This monitor works as a stand alone measurement system. It can store data from the sensors and transmit the information back to the HomeAdvice server via a built-in modem. Optionally, it can be deployed with other satellite monitors to provide a complete picture of the home's IAQ and comfort.
The ventilation satellite (Model 530) is a low-voltage transformer powered satellite that consists of a temperature, relative humidity and carbon dioxide sensor for diagnosis of comfort and ventilation issues within a home. This monitor stores and transmit its data to the central communication gateway.
The comfort satellite (Model 520) is a battery operated satellite that consists of temperature and relative humidity sensors for diagnosing comfort issues within a home. This monitor stores and transmit its data to the central communication gateway.
The central communication gateway sends data from multiple monitors in the same home back to the HomeAdvice server. It manages the initial local wireless network setup, stores sensor measurement data from the satellites, and then transfers data through cellular communications.
A wireless adapter can be attached to the Model 5000/5100 IAQ monitor to connect to the central communication gateway. This eliminates the need to use a telephone line to transfer data to AirAdvice.
